Meet Your Guide

Individual Counseling is structured as if you were meeting with a Guide. This means we meet you right where you are at, constantly encourage you to be open and honest with your concerns and fears, gently nudge you to out into the unknown and be more vulnerable, all while helping you confront your fears of shame or embarrassment. That is our promise and aim for each client to experience when they come to meet with us. Counseling provides a unique place where clients can feel safe (sometimes for the first time in their lives), talk without fear of being ashamed for what is or has happened to them, and focus on ways they can improve, heal, reconnect and grow. We understand that we are all going to have moments in our lives where we get stuck or caught in the undertow, but that is where we also find our greatest drive to push through, break the surface and breathing again the sweet breath of life.

Working One-on-One Together

Each client works with their counselor to develop a plan of action that is unique to their goals and expectations. Being a Certified Sexual Addictions Therapist (CSAT-C), I utilize my training from Patrick Carnes and Mark Laaser (premier leaders and researchers on the sexual addiction and recovery) to help my clients address their struggles with the pornography, masturbation, lust, sexual shame and intimacy problems. But, because sexual addictions and compulsive behavioral problems are only masks for much deeper struggles, I also want to help my clients incorporate tools and skills to help ease any anxieties or depression from past relational or experiential harms they may have encountered. Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor Skills and Mindfulness, Contemplative practices are also taught to clients to help them have tools they can grow and deepen with in their work.

Clients who have come to our practice and worked best with our therapists:

  • They are motivated

  • Have a goal(s) in mind they want to work on and achieve

  • Are naturally curious and/or want to understand “why they do, what they do”

  • Are open to being pushed out of their comfort zone

  • Ready for lasting change

  • Know they have exhausted their own resources

Whether you need a listening ear, encouragement and understanding, or a thoughtful perspective, we invite you to contact us to see if we can assist you with:
