Rates & Insurance

Rates

Each affiliated therapist at THRIVE sets their own rates as Clinical providers and skilled Mental Health Service Specialists. Our goal is to help clients feel better, live healthier lives and experience more fulfilling relationships, but we also recognized that we don’t want cost to be a limiting factor to access to exceptional care! If you find that you connect with a particular therapist, pleased do not hesitate to reach out. We would be honored to discuss with you more about your goals and how we might be able to assist you through some of the different options that each therapist has available at the practice.

Insurance

We resonate with the importance of wanting to utilize your insurance provider to cover medical-related issues and expenses, but we would like for you to consider few implications of using your medical insurance for professional counseling purposes:

In order to use your medical insurance for counseling, your therapist 1.) must be a registered provider with your carrier, and 2.) must provide personal information regarding your care along with a mental disorder diagnosis. That diagnosis often times becomes a part of your medical record that is filed through your insurance provider.  Though having a mental diagnosis on your record is not earth-shattering it can potentially carry some long-term implications and could hinder you from being able to obtain things such as life insurance, disability and even in some cases health insurance in the future.

As for Couples Counseling, unfortunately, insurance companies do not view relationship struggles as “medical-related” concern.  THRIVE recognizes this policy but it doesn’t take away the seriousness of relationship stress or concerns. This is why many of our providers do not accept insurance. However, know that we do deeply want to help individuals and couples receive care and not make things more complicated for them.

Some Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Psychologists do accept insurance for reimbursement purposes.  If THRIVE is unable to provide you with services through the use of private pay/sliding, or Direct Care, we are happy to assist you with finding a referral where your insurance may be accepted. However, we just want our clients to understand the implications involved with pursuing this route.

Even though many of our providers do not offer direct insurance reimbursements, families, couples and individuals are encouraged to utilize their Health Savings (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) as forms of payment for your sessions because professional counseling is often recognized as “preventative care”. If you would still like to meet with one of our therapists and would also like to see if your provider would allow for Out-of-network Billing, you can ask them if they could provide you with a monthly Superbill. This is a formal document that can be submitted to your insurance provider for full or partial reimbursement directly to you.

Still have questions or need further assistance finding a counselor feel free to reach out to us. We will be glad to assist you in any way that we can.

Payment

We accept cash, check, all major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards as forms of payment.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, please contact your therapist directly by phone, email or your Client Portal access at least 24-hours in advance of your scheduled session.  Otherwise, the client can be held liable for the session fee.  This enables many of the therapist to maintain consistent billing practices for all their clients.
